Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat Prescription Ordering

There are a number of ways that repeat prescriptions can be ordered.

1. Online using the link at the top of the page for patients who have registered to use the service.

2. By email to redlion.surgery@nhs.net please include full name, date of birth and address and give the names of the medication being ordered in full.

3. Dropping the repeat prescription slip into the box at the entrance to the surgery.

4. Using your chosen pharmacies repeat ordering service. Please remember that the surgery requires 48 hours notice to process repeat prescriptions. This 48 hours does not begin until the surgery receives the order from the pharmacy which may not be the same day as the request is given to the pharmacy.

Prescription Process

We ask that repeat prescriptions are not ordered earlier than one week before they are due and ask for at least 48 working hours notice to process a request.

Patients are advised that pharmacies will require additional time after they receive the prescription to dispense the items.

There could be an occasion where the GP declines your prescription request - this could be because the required monitoring is not up to date. You will be advised to book an appointment to speak to the GP or arrange a BT. Reception staff will try to contact patients to advise if this is the case.
